Founded March 3, 2011, High Tech Genesis (HTG) is the brainchild of founder, Dave Gorman. Dave worked in the high-tech sector for 20 years and then spent the next 20 years resourcing for them.
HTG is an engineering consulting company that provides specialized high-tech sector resources to our clients to help accelerate product to market.
Our engineers, developers and testers are focused on creating software. They are all industry specialists each in their own fields.
We are passionate about what we do and we’re constantly looking for more people to share our passion for creating something new every day.
Director of Operations
I’ve always been about technology. I’ve worked in almost every job you could do in the high-tech sector. These days, I’m either talking to high-tech companies about projects, or people to work on them. I get very excited about the big picture for new products and the impact they will make in the world. I tend to be somewhat of an evangelist in that regard. On a personal level, now that my kids have grown up, I have re-discovered the outdoors; I go fishing in the summer and snowmobiling in the winter. Life is good!
Account Manager/Recruitment Team Lead
With a dual portfolio my main responsibilities include managing specific accounts and assisting the recruiting team. Understanding my customers business and needs is paramount I accomplish this via on-site visits and Teams meetings. As a Recruitment Team Leader for High Tech Genesis, I am the point of contact for all our recruiting needs. I actively collaborate with our Industry partners, capitalizing on our technological expertise to gain a comprehensive understanding to support their hiring needs.
I was born with the “gift of the gab” which suits me well not only in what I do for a living but in my personal life as well. My husband and three kids love getting in the car driving to Florida where we camp every summer. I love shopping and cars; my husband is convinced I change my cars more than my shoes but what can I say there is something great about the smell of a new vehicle. Whether we’re traveling as a family, on the soccer field, at the dance studio, or just camping I always find a way to start chatting and making new friends wherever we go.
Senior Technical Talent Advisor
My primary responsibility is to identify and attract exceptional talent for our company’s open positions. By actively engaging with candidates, conducting comprehensive interviews, and providing informed hiring recommendations, I play a crucial role in assembling a highly skilled and dynamic team that drives our company’s success.
I am a dedicated individual with a passion for my family, a commitment to making a difference, and an unwavering drive to create a loving and supportive environment. In my free time I volunteer at a home for children with autism, providing care and support to these amazing kids.
Driven by a thirst for adventure, I have recently taken up skidooing as a thrilling winter hobby to embrace the winter season.
Executive Assistant
As an executive assistant to the Director of Operations, my main role is providing support. I also assist others with administrative tasks whenever possible, aiming for collective success as part of the Enablers Team.
During my free time, I actively engage in volunteering activities, including transporting rescues, helping seniors, and supporting the community. I am a proud animal lover with four cherished pets (Xena, Eve, Chloe and Kyle) and I find joy in immersing myself in the Wizarding World and enjoying Disney movies. Any free time I have left you’ll find me with a book in my hand.
Operational Firefighter and Marketing Manager
While I can fix things, I think “Problem Solver” would be a better term for me. I have been the go-to person assisting in anything from finance/admin to being the Project Manager for a company move. Since August 2012, I have been a part of HTG, witnessing its remarkable growth from a humble start to the impressive scale it has achieved today.
Spare time…anyone who knows me will tell you, spare time is not in my vocabulary. I produce movies that my husband writes and directs, which are all filmed in and around Ottawa. I’m also the manager and sound tech for a rock/blues original band, which certainly keeps life interesting. If that isn’t enough, I have a non-profit company raising money for ovarian cancer research, through a bi-annual music festival called “TealFest”. I remember seeing a movie once where the lead character said, “I’m an idea person”. I think this describes me to at “T”.
Social Media Analyst
As a Social Media Analyst, I thrive on diverse responsibilities. From creating job descriptions and promoting employment opportunities to collaborating with community employment counselors and collecting data, I contribute to our company’s success. At HTG, I find fulfillment and value the expertise of my colleagues, creating a dynamic environment for collective achievements.
“If you light a lamp for somebody, it will also brighten your path.” -Buddha
I am a spiritual person, drawn to positive vibrations. Driven and up for challenges, I enjoy being with family and friends, volunteering, and sharing music with our band. With an open mind and empathy, I strive to perform daily acts of kindness that impact others. I feel blessed with many beautiful souls in my life.
HR Manager
As an HR professional, I play a vital role in managing various aspects of the employee lifecycle. These include onboarding, administering employee benefits, handling employee relations and conflict resolution, and ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations. I support employee development through training and fostering a positive work environment. Ultimately, my role is to create a supportive and thriving workplace that enables our employees to thrive and contribute to the success of HTG.
I’m a mother of two, a boy and a girl, and a stepmother to three more, two boys and a girl. Our family includes three hockey players, two in Rep B and one in AA. When we’re not at arenas, we support the girls in their activities. I volunteer with Jake’s House for Autism and TealFest for Ovarian Cancer. My hobbies include gardening, traveling, and playing board games with the family.
General Manager
Technically I’m the “Chief of Staff”. I manage my own team of Admin and Finance people that we call the “Enablers” who really manage themselves as they are the long-running HTG employees.
Furthermore, as the resident tech enthusiast, I oversee multiple technical work items, affectionately referred to as “brown bags,” each at different stages of implementation.
When I am not at work, I can be found in my vegetable garden. A father of 5 boys, the garden was an essential component to make ends meet but over the years it has evolved into a favourite pass-time now that they have grown up and moved on. Despite the years, my boys still seem to know where the garden is.
We also help various organizations with job-search and resume writing seminars.
